Vicious war had been started by Azerbaijan on September 27, 2020.

The war was over an ancient Armenian land called Artsakh or Nagorno-Karabakh.

This land was given by Stalin to Azerbaijan in the 20s to appease Turkey, and try to persuade it to join Soviet Union.

In the 90s Armenians fought to reclaim this land following massacre of Armenians in Sumgait, Azerbaijan.

As a result of that war, Artsakh became independent.

On September 27, 2020 Azerbaijan attacked Artsakh civilian population with military weapons. This military assault was backed up by Turkey who hired Syrian mercenaries to fight on their behalf.

Civilian children, women and elderly were attacked and perished.

Thousands of Armenian men died from the vicious drone strikes.

The was ended after 44 days with Armenia sustaining severe human and strategic losses.

Armenia has been fighting the war on terrorism ALONE.

Dr. Azizian volunteered at the Burn Unit at the end of October. As a representative of MedArmeniaPhilanthropy, she had delivered 9 large suitcases of medical donations. In addition to MedArmeniaPhilanthropy, Armenian American Medical Association and AmeriCares significantly contributed to this large donation with surgical supplies, medications, etc.

Dr. Azizian witnessed indescribable atrocities while tending to soldeirs who had undergone amputation of limbs, severe burns, soft tissue injury, and more.

While at the Burn Unit, she helped with daily dressing changes, performed skin graft, while closely working with Dr. Karine Babayan, the head doctor at the Burn Unit and her surgical/ medical team.

Dr. Azizian is planning another trip soon.
